DESCRIPTION:On 21 Sept 2007 it is POW/MIA recognition day so the first p
art of the ceremony will be dedicated to that. On 21 Sept 2007 is the 1
0 year anniversary of Loan Tree’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial so the secon
d part of the ceremony will be dedicated to that. And the third and fin
ally ceremony will be a Flag Retirement ceremony conducted by the VFW\,
American Legion and the Boy Scouts.\n \nOur plan is to have 3 separate c
eremonies that will seamlessly fit together\; our total time goal will b
 e 1 to 1 ½ hours.\n \nWe are planning on doing the following:\n \n1.
Introduction/Greeting\n2. Posting of the Colors - (VFW Honor Guar
d)\n3. Pledge of Allegiance\n4. Singing of the National Anthem
 \n5. Invocation\n6. Introduction of special guests & a brief w
elcoming address\n7. Guest 10 minute speech and POW/MIA table cerem
ony\n8. Raising of the POW/MIA Flag\n9. Introduction and Histo
ry of the Lone Tree Vietnam Veterans Memorial\n10. Guest 10 minute sp
eech about the Vietnam War and those that served\n11. Reading of the
names on the Memorial\n12. 21 Gun Salute - (American Legion Honor Gua
rd)\n13. Guest 10 minute speech about the Flag and the retirement cer
 emony\n14. Taps\n15. Benediction\n16. Retirement of Colors - (B
agPipers)\n17. Closing\n \nWe are open to your comments and suggestio
ns on the planning\, layout\, activities and participation of the total
ceremony.\n \nIf any of you know any celebrities or prominent individual
s that would like to sing or give a speech at the Ceremony please contac
t Michael L. Emerson as soon as you can\, if they are a Vietnam Veteran
that would be ideal. We also would like two different clergy members th
at are Vietnam Vets to give the invocation and benediction.\n \nWe will
not allow any political agendas or negative comments about the USA durin
g any part of the ceremony or the speeches.\n \nWe would like to offer y
ou and your organization to be as involved as you can to help us make th
is the best ceremony possible. Do not feel obligated in any way to help
\, but if you do volunteer you will be expected to follow through. Neve
rtheless\, if you are not able to help with the ceremonies we do hope th
at you\, your family\, your friends and your organization will all come
to the ceremony to support us and honor your fellow Americans. Please p
ass the word about the Remembrance Ceremony to every person and organiza
tion that you can.\n \nPlease respond back to me soon with any comments\
 , questions and if you can volunteer and help.\n \nSincerely\,\n \n \nMi
